Latest Updates from Our Project:

Tame the Mammoth, Tame the World
almost 7 years ago – Tue, Jun 20, 2017 at 09:39:34 PM

We broke the 500 BGG subscribers Social Stretch Goal! That means...

Tame the Mammoth is unlocked!

On the Mammoth Event card you have the option to tame the mammoth rather than hunt it. Send four or more tribe members with three food resources and the mammoth is yours! Gain the respect of all other tribes, and 2 VP, but if the tribe members escorting the mammoth are ever wiped out, you lose respect, and the 2 VP.

One Step Closer to the Tar Pits!

While I was typing up the update, we hit 1000 Facebook Group members! If you're not a member yet, come join us and tell us what you think of the campaign so far!

That means we only need to achieve one more Social Stretch Goal to gain the Tar Pits! I've just seen the almost finished art for this, so I can't wait to show it to you guys when you achieve it!

How do we achieve the next closest Social Stretch Goal? Well, we're only 208 backers away from the Tar Pits! So, if you'll share this Facebook post or retweet this tweet, maybe we can grow our tribe!

Abandoned Village!

The next Stretch Goal is the Abandoned village! Excitingly enough, working to gain more backers for the Tar Pits will also drive us closer to this stretch goal!

The Abandoned Village event allows each player the opportunity to acquire a village in a hex they control for just three resources (one food, wood and stone).

Tribes Like it Hot

Another Stretch Goal down! The Social Stretch Goals are moving along quickly as well. We just reached the 25 photos of Meeples in Nature, so that means we only have one more social goal to unlock the Taming the Mammoth Event! Here's how close we are to the other social goals:

There are still photography goals to reach as well! A few clarifications on those:

It's best if the photos are posted to places outside of our Facebook Group as well, to spread the word. You can even post to the group and then share it on your wall so that others outside the group see it. Tweet or post using #riseoftribes please!

The Breaking Games Shelfies may include a shot of your game shelf with any Breaking Games title you own.

We'd love to see your happy faces in the game night photos!

The Desert Oasis Unlocked!

The Desert Oasis tile is for 'scenario play' or optional use. Suggested play is to replace one of the game Lake tiles with this one. It will count as a Lake for all card goals and events. For this game, a tribe must have 3 members to gather food on the desert oasis tile. Tribal conflict is sure to break out over water in this variant!

Our Frozen Past

A while back we unlocked the Glacier tile. We wanted to get the final art in before telling you about this amazing addition. One of the most important things to know is, it's a new promo for the First Print Exclusives! This means that, like the Wild Land tile, the first print run will include all Kickstarter games (both Standard and Deluxe). Once we have to print the game again, these exclusives will not be included.

The Glacier will be a 'scenario play' or optional tile, not associated with the core game or events. Suggested play is to place it on a Mountain tile at the start of the game. That mountain cannot support villages and only 1 stone may ever be gathered here while icy conditions remain.

During the game, any time a player takes an action with double suns in the dice pool, place a stone on the glacier. After 5 stones have accumulated, the ice has melted and the lush mountain beneath is revealed. The 5 stone markers are now available for the first tribe that gathers in this new land.

Some of our team are still coming back from Origins and recovering, but we'll give you an update on how that went soon!

Meeples in the Wild
almost 7 years ago – Mon, Jun 19, 2017 at 11:44:33 AM

Welcome to the tribe all new backers! One third of the way through the campaign, and we are doing phenomenally well!

Cautiously Approaching a Mammoth

Just to catch you up on some things we're doing, there's a Social Stretch Goal section currently working to add a Taming the Mammoth Event to the game. Once that's complete, a Tar Pits hex tile is next!

We've reached some recent goals, but we need 2 more to achieve the Mammoth Event. The easiest of these are the photos. Break out some meeples, step outside, and tweet @breaking_games or post to our Facebook Group some photos of meeples in nature. Here are a few we've recently received.

Another goal is to take images of Letter Tycoon (Brad Brook's previous game design) and spell out something having to do with the stone age.

We only need 8 more of these to achieve that step!

The Beginning of Tribes

Brad Brooks (designer) has written a wonderful article describing how Rise of Tribes was originally conceived and designed. It's a great read and understanding of game design!

Retailers

We apologize for any confusion with our vendor portal. We have made a cart item for Rise of Tribes, so that you may select it and reserve your special offers for Rise of Tribes first run English editions. Please revisit our breakinggames portal and select the new item to lock in your pledge. If you have any questions, feel free to message us on Kickstarter and we’ll sort it out. Thank you!

Rise at Origins

A reminder, if you're at Origins, come see Rise of Tribes at the Breaking Games booth #915!

AND... if you take images of Rise of Tribes at Origins and post them to us, we'll count it as "Meeples in Nature" towards the social goals! Meeples are in their element at Origins after all.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Gameplay, 6 Pack, & Origins
almost 7 years ago – Sat, Jun 17, 2017 at 06:26:13 AM

We're getting close to the arrowhead stretch goal! I really love these.

Thank you so much for your support! We already punched through 2000 backers on our Social Goals, and we're on our way to the next stage for our Facebook Group! Your involvement on the boardgamegeek site has boosted us up on the Hotness, and our cover is on the Hot Images! My tribe is so awesome.

Origins!

If you're at Origins this week, come find us at Booth 915 and demo Rise of Tribes there! Extra tribe points (whatever those are) to anyone who snaps images of the game at Origins and lets us know!

6 Pack Deluxe Tier Added

We've been getting requests for larger groups to buy more than one copy of Rise of Tribes. We have now updated the tiers to include a 6 pack of the Deluxe version. It took us a while to get all the numbers for shipping and manufacturing to line up right so it was a benefit to backers as well, but we have it now.

2 Games: We've had requests about getting just 2 games. We are still crunching those numbers, but will let you know soon. Stay tuned.

Gameplay Video is Here!

Brad Brooks (designer) plays Rise of Tribes with Peter Vaughan (developer) and Astrid Dalmady (Asst. Developer).

Entering a New Land

First Day

Wow. We are all just floored by the full support and enthusiasm all of you have given us so far! We reached funding in just under the first hour. Right now, as I write this, we've blown past the first three stretch goals. We're working hard to keep up!

We're working to update graphics and artwork as stretch goals are met. While all of the art for the game is completed, some of the art work for the stretch goals are still being refined. We will post updates soon revealing those as we get them.

Stretch Goals Achieved So Far

There's a lot to cover on how the Canoe, walls, volcano, new tribe, and custom meeples work! So, we're going to address all that in the next update coming soon.

Moving Forward

We are moving fast and there's a lot to discuss, but we also want to make sure we don't spam our backers daily. We will definitely have more to discuss very soon, and go into detail about how these stretch goals work.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask in the Comments section. Thank you so much, and welcome to the tribe!
